Harry Potter And the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

5 stars

Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets is slowly becoming a favorite of mine. At first I was scared of this book (when I first read it) but I still can’t watch the movie because I’m a scaredy cat! This time around I really enjoyed it a lot more than I did the first time I read it.

The thing I love about this book is how all of the pieces fit together at the end. I’m always amazed of how J.K. Rowling thinks of all these amazing stories that are all absolutely genius! When I was little I used to write stories. I wish I still had them because I bet it would be really fun to read them. But I used to come up with these great ideas for stories, I would write and write but then I wouldn’t be able to end the story or come up with a resolution. Now obviously my stories were more princess-y and they didn’t really have any actual meaning nor did I plan or draft my stories. But J.K. Rowling’s imagination amazes me. She’s created this world within her books that is so real. When I’m reading her books I feel myself as Harry. I feel the walls of Hogwarts around me and it feels so welcome.

This diary holds memories of terrible things. Things that happened at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

— Tom Marvalo Riddle

In this book we meet some great characters who I’d like to showcase

  • Gilderoy Lockhart

He is such a mood. It’s really a shame that we don’t see more from him in the other books. Someone should write a book all about his adventures. I would definitely read it!

  • Dobby the *free* house elf

My favorite creature in Harry Potter is Dobby. He’ is just a wonderful character I love him and he’s amazing and he is just such a sweet character.

Dobby has heard of your greatness sir, but of your goodness Dobby never knew

  • Moaning Myrtle

She’s just such a fun character! I love how they portrayed her in the movie and in the Cursed Child play. She’s just crazy!

Overall

Love this series to death! If you haven’t read Harry Potter you’ve been living under a rock!!

  1. Great review! πŸ˜€ Chamber of Secrets has never been my absolute favorite of the HP books, but you’re so right that JKR’s imagination in creating this whole world is unparalleled. I’m blown away by it every time I reread the books! And Lockhart definitely adds a hilarious element to this one πŸ˜€
