THIS BOOK HAS SURPASSED ANY AND ALL EXPECTATIONS.
This summer I have been diving into more Sarah J Maas books. And I have now read pretty much everything she has published.
SJM has quickly become a new favorite author of mine and this book did NOT disappoint.
House of Earth and Blood is the first book in a new Adult Urban Fantasy series. (Crescent city is the series name, not the book title).
Here is the synopsis:
At first I have to admit the book was a little slow. But I promise once you get through the first 50-100 pages or so it gets so much better. The first 100 pages kind of set the scene. There is a lot of world building and information being presented so that you can grasp a better understanding of the story.
As with all of SJM’s books this one is FILLED with plot twists, which kept me super entertained. And of course the romance 😌.
The characters are ✨magnificent✨ I love Bryce (the main character) to death. Throughout the story she showed her confidence and her willingness to put others before herself. I’d seen a lot of people criticizing SJM and saying that all of her characters are the same and I will agree that in my opinion Bryce and Aelin (from The Throne of Glass series) are very similar in the way they act.
As always SJM stuns with her romance. This is a enemies to lovers romance, which I love, and I think it was done so nicely. Bryce and Hunt’s snarky arguments and conversations really made the book 1200% better
I would definitely recommend that you check out this book! I laughed, I cried and I had a great time.
——quick personal update!
I haven’t been posting a lot because I just really didn’t feel like writing reviews. I spent most of the summer reading Sarah J. Maas books and I wanted to read them with the intention of enjoying it, rather than reviewing them.
I never want my blog to be a place where I feel pressured to review or do a certain post. I truly just want to talk about books. I finished House of Earth and Blood today and I wanted to write so I did! I probably won’t be consistently posting but I do update goodreads pretty often so add me on there!
